Jamaican-American rapper Sean Kingstone best known for his 2007 chart-topping hit “Beautiful Girls,” has been sentenced to three and a half years in federal prison for his role in a multimillion-dollar fraud case.

Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, was found guilty earlier this year alongside his mother,Janice Turner, in a scheme that defrauded businesses and individuals of more than $1 million. The pair were accused of acquiring luxury items — including high-end watches, a massive 232-inch LED television, designer furniture, and a bulletproof Cadillac Escalade — without making legitimate payments.

According to federal prosecutors, Kingston and his mother exploited the rapper’s celebrity status to convince victims to hand over expensive goods. They allegedly promised social media promotion and referrals to other celebrities in exchange, but when it came time to pay, they sent out fake wire transfer receipts.

Court records revealed text exchanges between Kingston and his mother discussing the falsified payments. In one message, Kingston reportedly instructed her to “make [a] fake receipt.”

Before sentencing, the 34-year-old artist apologized to the court, saying he had learned from his mistakes. His mother received a five-year prison sentence in July.

The case dates back to 2024, when authorities raided Kingston’s home near Fort Lauderdale, Florida, taking his mother into custody. The rapper was later arrested in California, where he was scheduled to perform at a U.S. Army training base.

Kingston, who also gained international fame with hits such as “Fire Burning,”“Take You There” and the Justin Bieber collaboration “Eenie Meenie,” will begin serving his sentence immediately.

His attorney described him as someone who struggled to manage sudden fame and wealth, saying Kingston “still had the mentality of a teenager” when it came to handling business and finances.
