Gospel musician Guardian Angel has revealed he consistently declines international performance opportunities that do not include accommodating his wife, Esther Musila.
During a recent interview with Alex Mwakideu on the Live podcast, he revealed that his reasoning stems from his belief in her integral role in both his personal life and career success.
A Husband's Unwavering Stance
Guardian Angel is emphatic about his stance on international shows.
He states, "I cannot attend any show outside the country if I don't go with my wife. There are a lot of shows I have turned down. If I can't come with my wife, then let it be,” he said.
"Even if she were not my manager, I’d still choose to go with the manager and my wife,” he added.
When asked why, he responds, " I can't go anywhere without my wife... Because I want to stay close to my wife. I love my wife."
Financially, this commitment has cost him. He revealed that "the most I have left is like 800 thousand".

Despite such figures, he prioritises the value and respect he and his team deserve. He says, "I have suffered enough, so now just give me value". If an event organiser cannot accommodate his team, including his wife, he would rather "go into the farm or sleep".
More Than Just a Partner: A Manager and a 'Good Thing'
Beyond being his spouse, Guardian Angel openly acknowledges his wife's professional role. "My wife is my manager”.
The musician revealed that their relationship began during a financially shaky period for his revenue. He attributes a significant turnaround to her, referencing a biblical verse.
"He who finds a wife obtains favour and finds a good thing. I found a good thing and I obtained favour, which has propelled me heavily within a short while.”
His wife's support for his music is immense. He highlights, "If I go anywhere, if I go shoot a video, she's there, I haven't released a song, she says 'release it'".
This partnership has led to a remarkable financial improvement
"Within one year, revenue increased badly. In the time we've been together, I've been able to achieve many things that would have taken long to achieve without her, not because she brought money, but because she supported it,” he affirmed.
Strategic Support for an Artist's Life
Guardian Angel also distinguishes between "Omwaka," his personal self, and "Guardian Angel," the artist. He notes that creatives often need someone to manage other aspects of life, ensuring things go on.
"If I enter the house, I am Omwaka," he explains. His wife's role ensures that Omwaka handles his personal and family responsibilities, allowing Guardian Angel to flourish professionally.
He firmly believes that the only way to succeed well in your job as a man is if you get the support of the person you live with 100%".

Their marriage, which became public knowledge despite a notable age difference, Guardian Angel reportedly 34, while Esther Musila is 55, has been a significant talking point over the years.
