Trinity Starlets' players/ HANDOUT

Trinity Starlets coach Sylvanus Wesonga says improved finishing will be central to their bid to register consecutive victories in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Women’s Premier League.

They host Zetech Sparks at Afraha Stadium on Saturday. Trinity ended a four-match winless start to the 2026/27 campaign with a 3-1 victory over Bungoma Queens on Sunday. Lorna Kwamboka scored a hat-trick to secure their first three points of the season.

The result lifted Trinity to ninth in the 12-team standings with four points from five matches, having drawn once and lost three times before the Bungoma fixture.

Wesonga said his players had responded to work done on their finishing after struggling to convert chances in their opening matches. “We had been creating chances but failing to put them away. We worked on correcting our mistakes in front of goal. Against Bungoma, the players were able to take their chances,” Wesonga said.

“The win against Bungoma Queens has rejuvenated the players. They are more confident, especially after earning their winning allowances. Even in training, they are eager to go.”

The coach said the win had also improved the mood in camp as the team prepares for Zetech, who have collected eight points from five matches.

“We need to maintain the same attitude in training and carry it into the match. Winning one game is important, but we have to show that we can do it consistently,” he said.

Trinity will also welcome defender Pauline Nakhanu back into the squad after recovering from injury, giving Wesonga an option as he seeks to strengthen the team.

Zetech, meanwhile, will travel to Nakuru after drawing 1-1 with Shabana Starlets in their last league outing. They have won twice, drawn twice and lost once in five matches. They have scored eight goals and conceded six.

The visitors’ attacking record includes a 4-2 win over Bungoma Queens, while their latest draw against Shabana extended their points tally to eight and left them fourth in the standings.

Trinity will need to improve their home form, having lost both home matches against Kibera Soccer Women and Kenya Police Bullets without scoring. Their three goals against Bungoma marked a significant improvement in their attacking output.

Elsewhere, Elim White Ladies host Vihiga Queens at Ndura Stadium in Kitale, with both sides seeking their first wins of the season. Elim have one point from five matches and sit 11th, while Vihiga are bottom without a point. Elim suffered a 4-0 defeat to Ulinzi Starlets in their previous match, while Vihiga lost 2-0 to Kayole Starlets.

Bungoma Queens have two points and travel to Kasarani Annex to face Kenya Police Bullets as they seek to recover from the 3-1 defeat to Trinity.

Shabana Starlets will host Gideon Starlets at Green Stadium in Awendo, after drawing 1-1 with Zetech while Gideon lost 2-0 to Kibera Soccer Women.

Ulinzi Starlets and Kenya Police Bullets lead the league with 15 points apiece after five matches, while Kibera Soccer Women occupy third place with 12.

Trinity’s next assignment will be against Kenya Police Bullets on November 22, according to the league fixture.
