Content creator Cashmere has sparked mixed reactions after misleading guests about the purpose of her much-publicized event.

She had distributed invitations to what was billed as her wedding, heavily promoting it online. The dress code was “all black,” and attendees, including fellow content creators, showed up in large numbers, dressed elegantly for what they believed was a matrimonial celebration.

However, the so-called “bride” arrived wearing a white suit and surprised the crowd by announcing that the event was not a wedding after all, but the launch of a training institute.

“Today I am getting married to the love of my life, it’s a training institute,” she told the audience.

After the event, some guests took to social media to air out their disappointment. Winnie Njenga said she had even refused to go for her cousin's traditional wedding to attend Cashmere's supposed wedding.
