Coastal artist Mbekki Mswahili has offered a glimpse into the heartfelt inspiration behind his move to tattoo media personality Azeezah Hashim’s face on his chest.
During an exclusive interview with Mpasho’s Moses Sagwe, the artist, who has recently garnered attention for his dedicated musical piece, also composed exclusively for Azeezah, spoke candidly about his deep feelings for her.
The Heartfelt Purpose of the tattoo and song
Mswahili revealed that the primary aim of the song was intensely personal.

He elaborated that he felt compelled to transform his emotions into a musical form.
"The main point or the main purpose was to share or to express my feelings to Azeezah Hashim. I had to capture some words in the form of a song to express myself fully to her,” he said.
An Unwavering Inspiration: Love for Her
When pressed on his inspiration, Mbekki Mswahili's response was direct and unambiguous: his profound love for Azeezah. "My inspiration is my love for her," he affirmed.

The artist conveyed the depth of his affection, reiterating, "You know I love Azeezah very much. “She is worthy of dying for, so I will keep on pursuing her, either in public or in private space," the artist vowed.
On whether he is chasing clout with the Citizen TV’s host for 10 Over 10 program, Mbekki Mswahili stated, “You know the pressure of social media makes people think that every time you express your feelings to somebody, is clout, but my love for Azeezah is real and is genuine and very soon, it will be proven to people.”

Mswahili also suggested that his dedication to Aziza extends far beyond the realm of music. He mentioned having numerous other things he wishes to devote to her.
“I love Azeezah and apart from music, I have many things to dedicate to her, in fact mambo bado,” he noted, hinting at future expressions of his commitment.
The Story Behind the Dedication: Azeezah Hashim
Mbekki Mswahili's song "Azeezah" is understood to be a heartfelt dedication to prominent Kenyan media personality, Azeezah Hashim.
Hashim is a well-known figure, particularly recognised for her vibrant presence on Citizen TV’s popular entertainment show, 10 Over 10, which airs every Friday night.
Mswahili, an emerging artist from the coastal region, publicly expressed his admiration for Hashim, culminating in the release of this romantic ballad.
But 12 days since the release, Azeezah Hashim hasn’t responded to the artist’s expression of her love.
