Tottenham captain Son Heung-min has announced he will leave the club this summer, bringing an end to his ten-year tenure with the North London side.
The South Korea international, who joined Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, has scored 173 goals in 454 appearances and became a revered figure among the faithful.
The emotional announcement comes just months after he captained Tottenham to victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final in May, clinching the club's first major trophy in 17 years.
Speaking to media alongside new manager Thomas Frank during Tottenham's pre-season tour in Seoul, the 33-year-old described the decision as "the most difficult one I have made in my career."
"I came to North London as a kid - a very young age, a young boy came to London who even didn't speak English," Son said. "Leaving this club as a grown man is a very, very proud moment."
Son, who is under contract with Spurs until 2026, is reportedly in advanced negotiations with Major League Soccer (MLS) side Los Angeles FC.
His final appearance for Tottenham could come in his home country, as he is set to start and captain the side against Newcastle in their friendly on Sunday.
New head coach Thomas Frank, who replaced Ange Postecoglou in June, lauded Son as "a true Spurs legend" and "one of the greatest players to play in the Premier League."
"If that is the last game for Sonny, what a place to do it here in front of his home fans," Frank remarked, adding that "It could be a beautiful ending."
Tottenham are also set to face Paris St-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup on 13th August, though Son may have already departed by then.
