This recent progress builds upon earlier public updates regarding his use of Ozempic. In a TikTok post from May 13, 2025, Kinuthia shared an initial success, a week after he had embarked on the weight loss journey.

“This is a living testimony, my people, my body is about to transform. Losing 5kgs in 7 days is such a big flex. Am in week 2 of my Ozempic shots and am loving my new body looks. I started at 148 kg, now at 143 kg. I can’t wait to see my body goals,” Kinuthia beamed with happiness.

Ozempic, a brand name for the drug semaglutide, has gained considerable attention globally as a medication primarily approved for managing type 2 diabetes.

However, it has increasingly been prescribed off-label for weight loss due to its effectiveness in appetite suppression and promoting significant weight reduction.

The drug functions by mimicking a hormone called GLP-1, which regulates appetite and slows down digestion, leading to increased feelings of fullness and reduced calorie intake.

Studies indicate that patients using Ozempic can experience an average weight loss of 10-15% of their body weight over six months when combined with a balanced diet and regular exercise.

While some have lauded the effectiveness of such medications, medical professionals generally advise that Ozempic should be used under proper medical supervision due to potential side effects, which can include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal pain.

The drug is primarily intended for type 2 diabetes patients, and concerns about its off-label use leading to shortages for those who require it for health conditions have been raised.
