Kenyans are still grappling with the heartbreaking news of the sudden death of beloved comedian and TikTok sensation, KK Mwenyewe, born Zakaria Kariuki.
His close friend and fellow content creator, Kafengo, has taken the lead in confirming the tragic news and rallying immediate support for the grieving family.
Kafengo confirmed that KK died while receiving treatment at Kiambu Level 5 Hospital.
Kafengo's Revelation: A Call to Action and Support
In the immediate wake of his friend's passing, Kafengo took to social media to rally support for KK’s grieving family.
In a heartfelt video, he appealed directly to Kenyans to contribute whatever they could to ease the family’s burden during this incredibly difficult time.
"I have come here so that we can find a way to support the family during this hard moment. We have come up with a till as a family... Whatever amount God will help you contribute, just send, and we shall appreciate," Kafengo said, specifically sharing Till Number 6504530 for contributions.
He also posted an official tribute poster featuring KK’s photo and promised to provide further updates as plans for the burial and memorial services begin to take shape.

"Eerily Prophetic" Skit Resurfaces Amidst Grief
Meanwhile, a particular past skit of KK Mwenyewe has resurfaced online, leaving fans deeply shaken and emotional.
In the viral video, KK is seen dancing energetically outside State House, dressed in black trousers and a white shirt, to the infectious sound of a Ugandan hit by Dexter Rapper.
Just as the mood intensifies, simulated gunshot sounds abruptly interrupt the music, cutting to an unexpected image of Jesus.
KK is then depicted looking around, seemingly confused—a visual sequence that, in the context of his passing, strongly suggests he has crossed over to the afterlife.
What was once a piece of dark humour is now being interpreted by some fans as eerily prophetic, with many questioning whether the young comedian unknowingly foreshadowed his own death through his art.
Tributes have poured in from fellow comedians, heartbroken fans, and even political leaders, each mourning a talent whose light was extinguished far too soon.
Among the first to express his sorrow was fellow Kikuyu content creator, Guka wa Nyumba Kumi, who shared a poignant screenshot of his final WhatsApp conversation with KK, highlighting the suddenness of the loss.
Comedian Mbote Njogu paid tribute to KK’s tireless spirit, while MC Bull added a simple but poignant message: “Gone too soon. Rest in peace Mr KK Mwenyewe.”
