President William Ruto on Tuesday awarded former United Nations (UN) Secretary General Ban Ki-moon with Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart, CGH, the highest national honour.

This happened in a ceremony at State House, Nairobi.

The Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart is the highest civilian award in Kenya, recognising exceptional service to the nation. 

It is typically awarded to sitting heads of state, prominent religious leaders, or individuals with outstanding contributions to Kenya and globally.
