Tanzanian music star Juma Jux has firmly denied claims that he took out a TSh 500 million (approximately KSh 24.6 million) loan to finance his elaborate wedding celebrations in Tanzania and Nigeria.

Speaking in an interview with Wasafi FM, the Bora Nienjoy hitmaker clarified that he personally funded the weddings without any form of borrowing.

“It’s not true. I did not get a loan to do my wedding. I am a businessman,” he said. Jux explained that while the wedding involved multiple ceremonies, the traditional ceremony held in Nigeria was organised by his wife’s family.

“Still, it was expensive because I had to fly my people there,” he noted.

Despite the scale and cost of the celebrations, the singer stressed that he has no regrets about the expenses incurred.

“Yes, it was expensive, but I had told myself that if I was going to do a wedding, I would do it properly,” he added.

Jux chose not to reveal the total amount spent, emphasising that money was never his priority. “My happiness was in the wedding itself, not the money spent. I didn’t keep track of the expenses. Even the amount I gave out as gifts was a lot,” he explained.

He also highlighted the contributions of his friends, revealing that fellow musician Diamond Platnumz spent $25,000 on gifts alone.

Responding to reports that he purchased a TSh 100 million (approximately KSh 4.9 million) wedding ring, Jux was unapologetically proud. “She is Jux’s wife—she has to have a big ring,” he said with a smile.

The couple’s wedding celebrations were nothing short of a spectacle. Jux married Nigerian entrepreneur and influencer Priscy Ojo in a series of grand ceremonies spread across three months in 2025.

The festivities began with a Nikkah ceremony in Dar es Salaam on 7 February, followed by a civil wedding on 13 February.

In April, the couple travelled to Nigeria for their traditional ceremony in Lagos on 17 April, which was then followed by a glamorous white wedding on 19 April.

They concluded their celebrations with a grand reception held in Tanzania on 28 May.

Their cross-cultural wedding journey, spanning two countries and multiple traditions, quickly became one of the most talked-about celebrity unions of the year, drawing admiration for its opulence, coordination, and heartfelt displays of love.
