Born Lovy Longomba, the Kenyan-born artist was one-half of the iconic music duo The Longombas, alongside his late brother Christian. The group rose to fame in the early 2000s with chart-topping hits like Vuta Pumz, Shika More, and Queen. Their unique sound, a fusion of Afro-pop and R&B, not only dominated Kenyan airwaves but also left an indelible mark on East Africa’s music landscape.

Coming from a musical dynasty, his father, Lovy Longomba Sr., was a member of Congo’s legendary band Viva La Musica, and his grandfather, Vicky Longomba, was a founding member of TPOK Jazz, Music was in Lovy’s blood. But while fame and success came early, Lovy’s heart was being drawn elsewhere.

After relocating to the United States, Lovy began to step back from the music scene. In what many describe as a divine calling, he traded the stage for the pulpit, dedicating himself fully to ministry. This transition, while surprising to fans, marked the beginning of his journey as a prophet and teacher of the gospel.
