Actress Blake Lively is seeking to withdraw two of the claims she filed against director Justin Baldoni in their ongoing legal dispute.

The pair have been locked in a high-profile battle since December 2024, when Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and launching a smear campaign against her following their work on the film It Ends With Us.

According to Variety, Lively now wants to drop the claims of intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

Baldoni’s legal team had requested access to her medical and therapy records to support their defence against her allegations of severe emotional suffering.

Documents filed by Baldoni’s team state that Lively’s lawyers recently informed them of her intent to withdraw the emotional distress claims.

However, they noted she has refused to do so with prejudice—meaning she could refile the claims in future.

Lively’s legal team called the filing a “press stunt,” insisting that her case is being refined to focus on stronger legal grounds.

“Ms Lively continues to allege emotional distress as part of her broader claims, including sexual harassment and retaliation,” her lawyers said.

In January 2025, Baldoni filed a countersuit against Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, accusing them of defamation, civil extortion, and invasion of privacy.

The legal fallout stems from the 2024 film It Ends With Us, adapted from Colleen Hoover’s best-selling novel. Lively played the lead role of Lily Bloom, a woman confronting cycles of domestic abuse.

Singer Taylor Swift was briefly pulled into the case earlier this year, after being subpoenaed over claims she influenced script changes.

Her legal team strongly denied any involvement, calling the request a "fishing expedition." The subpoena was later withdrawn.

The court has yet to rule on whether it will allow Lively to drop the claims or compel her to release the requested medical records.
