Kenyan comedian Kennedy Odhiambo, better known as Crazy Kennar, has long been a beloved figure for his sharp, relatable skits that capture the essence of Kenyan life.

However, his latest video, which was deleted from all social media platforms on May 29, 2025, has ignited a firestorm of reactions online, exposing the challenges of navigating humour in a sensitive digital age.

The now-removed skit, described as a comedic take on a man wooing a woman and featuring a controversial cave sequence, left fans and critics divided.

In the video, Kennar is seen fiercely competing for a woman he’s smitten with, fending off other men vying for her attention.

After successfully warding off the competition, he takes her to his home, where it’s implied that they become intimate.

However, the narrative takes an unexpected turn when the scene abruptly shifts to a shocked Kennar finding himself in a cave. The video then ends on this surprising note.

The video’s deletion sparked immediate debate on X, with feminist voices leading the criticism.

User @_fortyfourza expressed frustration, stating, “Crazy Kennar is such a great content creator and went ahead to ruin that brilliance with his now deleted video.Every single day is a reminder that men do not know a gaddamn thing about the female reproductive system, & spend their time spreading false information about it.”

This suggests the skit may have included content perceived as misinformed or offensive, particularly regarding women’s anatomy.

Conversely, Kennar found defenders who championed his artistic freedom. @Cleophas_Ojwang argued, “Crazy Kennar must not listen to feminists whom I am sure compelled him to bring down this great content. Not every content has to sit well with everyone - the goal of art is to reflect what happens in the society without bias, and this particular video did exactly that.”

Others, like @_Briankorir, questioned the removal, saying, “Why did Crazy Kennar delete this video? There’s nothing wrong with it.”

These supporters reflect Kennar’s established style of satire, often tackling societal issues like corruption or dating norms, as seen in his 2024 viral skit about Kenyan public servants, which earned praise from entities like Huduma Kenya and KURA.

This isn’t Kennar’s first encounter with backlash; his 2022 “Side Chic vs Main Chic” skit faced international criticism for alleged colourism, though Kenyan fans defended it as a cultural misunderstanding.

That history underscores how Kennar’s humour, rooted in local context, can polarize audiences when viewed through different lenses.

Yet, this controversy highlights the tightrope comedians walk in addressing societal truths. X users like @LabanMbunya and @AbdulahiAdan10 confirmed the video’s removal across platforms, signaling its significant impact.
