Amber Ray: I Discovered I Was Pregnant After Breaking Up with Kennedy Rapudo

Businesswoman and club host Amber Ray celebrated her daughter, Africanah Rapudo, for turning two years old. In her message, she recalled how she found out she was expecting a child with Rapudo.

In a long post filled with love and affection on Instagram, Amber Ray recounted how she was shown signs and visions in her dreams about having another child, after previously raising baby Gavin in her teenage years.

Ray revealed that raising her first child made her vow not to have another child before getting married, but all the while, she was being shown dreams about the arrival of the baby, whom she later named Africanah.

“Before I found out I was pregnant with you, the universe was already preparing me. I had vowed never to have another child before marriage, even though I knew I had the strength to raise one. But God had His plan… and He really wanted you here,” Amber Ray reminisced.

“I kept seeing signs—numbers, visions—telling me to prepare for a new chapter I didn’t yet understand. I remember going two nights without sleep… only to discover I was pregnant with you,” she added.

The socialite revealed that by the time she discovered she was pregnant, she had already separated from her boyfriend, Kennedy Rapudo, in the infamous breakup that never lasted long.

This hurt her deeply, as she felt she had violated her original position of not wanting to have another child before marriage, even though she was capable of raising her anyway.

Her worries and fears ended when she realized that a baby was growing inside her and that Rapudo was still thinking about her, even sending her money for lunch.

“At that time, your dad and I had broken up. Yet even he had a dream of you, exactly how you are today. And the craziest part? On the day I went for a scan just to be sure, he sent me an M-Pesa with the message: “I’ve decided to buy you lunch today.” He didn’t know what was happening in my life… but somehow, he sent exactly what I needed.”

“I was scared—afraid to be a single mom again. But the moment I knew you were growing inside me, all those fears disappeared. I chose you with my whole heart, with or without anyone else,” Amber said.

After giving birth to her, Amber Ray named her Africanah, a name she revealed to have a meaning that relates to the wealth found on the African continent.

“And you, my love, have been nothing but a blessing. You are so loved, so adored. You light up lives everywhere you go. Your name, Africanah, carries the spirit of Africa—its richness, power, and beauty. May you grow to embody everything your name stands for,” she ended with an exquisite wish.
