Businessman and philanthropist Mike Sonko has delivered on his promise to crash his luxury Lexus into a wall after Arsenal were defeated by PSG in a Champions League tie.

Arsenal were drawn against PSG on Wednesday night in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final, a game they lost 3-1 on aggregate.

Sonko, a die-hard Arsenal fan, had vowed to crash his car into a wall if PSG beat Arsenal in Wednesday night's match, which ended 2-1 in favor of the hosts, PSG.

The former Nairobi governor showed his faith in Arsenal, bragging about his team and saying Arsenal would back his bet so he wouldn't damage his car.

"Today is today, Arsenal must beat PSG. PSG today has no luck. I have spoken to the elders. And if we are defeated today, this car today, it will go into the wall. That is loyalty, we are tired of life too, there are not many wild stories here," Sonko said while driving the car at night on the Nairobi-Nakuru road.

In another update after the match, Sonko posted another video in the dark where only his voice could be heard, as he allegedly crashed his car.

His voice sounded like someone at the scene in the dark, boasting that he had successfully crashed the car, damaging its front area, although he said he escaped unharmed.

"Arsenal, we’ve been defeated, now I have crashed this car into a wall, as you can see. That's the dashboard, all the lights are gone, but God is with me, I am still here. Eeish, Arsenal, my car has turned into a wreck because of you, this is dangerous, man, the car is completely gone, but God loves me very much," Sonko was heard speaking as if he regretted the act itself in the dark.

The flamboyant politician is not the only prominent Kenyan who has shown faith in Arsenal overcoming all odds against PSG and reaching the final with the hope of winning the trophy for the first time in the club's history.

Artist Bahati Kioko had also made a promise prior to the game to shave off his dreadlocks if Arsenal lost.

Bahati said that he had made an agreement with his wife, Diana Marua, that he would cut off his signature dreadlocks if Arsenal failed to reach the final.

“I have agreed with @diana_marua that if Arsenal loses this Wednesday’s Game, I shave my 10 10-year dreadlocks,” Bahati vowed.

However, after the match ended, Bahati posted a prank video of himself being pinned to the floor by his wife with a pair of large scissors in an attempt to cut his hair.

It remains to be seen whether the artist will keep his promise and cut off the hair he claims he has been growing for 10 years, or whether it will remain another unfulfilled promise.
