Gospel minister Wilfred Andabwa, popularly known as Ole Willy, has taken his ministry beyond borders, embarking on a transformative mission to support and uplift vulnerable communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo’s city of Goma and neighboring Rwanda.
Known for his vibrant ministry and soulful gospel music, Ole Willy is now channeling his energy into a deeply personal and impactful humanitarian cause.
In a recent interview, the minister opened up about his inspiration, challenges on the ground, and the broader vision behind his mission.
According to Ole Willy, he embarked on the mission out of his deep faith and desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

“The Lord commanded and called me to share the gospel and empower the younger generation in decision-making, leadership, and faith. Africa has presented opportunities to bring hope to communities through spiritual guidance, humanitarian efforts, and training young missionaries, then I equip them and send them out,” Ole Willy said.
The Gospel Minister further stated that the mission has really changed his career as an artist and expanded his perspective on giving.
“This mission has broadened my perspective and reinforced the idea that my artistic gifts can be tools for meaningful change. It has shifted my focus from entertainment alone to using my art and influence to support humanitarian causes and bring solutions to the crisis of young people who are scattered all over like a lost sheep without a shepherd, looking for true meaningful love and hope that only Jesus can fill the gap,” he added.
During his mission, Ole Willy made sure that he had incorporated vibrant cultural expressions from Rwanda, Congo, Burundi, Mozambique, and parts of South Africa, Kenya, and Tanzania.

“The rhythms, sounds, and stories from these regions have inspired me and influenced my creativity. Their narratives of resilience and hope add depth to music and motivational speeches. However, I’m not spending much time in the studios instead I connect young people from African countries to come together and build African sound art. And we use the sounds for evangelism on our missions. We have projects going on,” she added.
According to Ole Willy, the biggest challenge was navigating logistical and resource constraints.
“Providing food, shelter, and medication while navigating logistical and resource constraints has been tough. It requires immense collaboration and faith. But God has always been faithful as we reach out to these communities. What we have done is just a drop in the ocean. We trust God for more support,” the Gospel Minister further explained.
Additionally, Andabwa said that he will be working with local artists from the regions and targeting at least 200 songs.

Asked about a message he has for his fans who have been following his mission, Ole Willy Said;
“Not only my following in Kenya but the entire continent, I’m deeply grateful for your support and encouragement. Your faith in me motivates me to keep spreading love and hope. I urge you to find opportunities to uplift others and live with purpose. Together, we can make a difference. Let's rise up beyond demonstration crimes, among others. And ask God to lead us in every step we make,”.
Andabwa says that he will continue with his humanitarian causes even after finishing his assignments in Goma and Rwanda.
“After this mission, I plan to keep using my music and other talents to inspire, encourage, and support communities, wherever God calls me next,”.
In his parting short, Ole Willy said, “Witnessing the resilience and hope in these communities has taught me humility and the importance of serving others selflessly. Spiritually, I feel renewed and inspired to keep spreading God’s message while training many people to be soul winners because the Bible says the harvest is plenty, but the workers are few.
