A new report on county governments' budget implementation for the first half of the 2024/25 financial year reveals that Machakos County recorded the highest domestic travel expenditure at Sh320.42 million.

Kitui followed with Sh279.09 million, while Nairobi ranked third at Sh260.14 million.

Other counties in the top ten include Nyandarua, Kajiado, Meru, Kakamega, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, and Baringo, with expenditures ranging between Sh173 million and Sh216 million.
