The 2024 FinAccess Household Survey reveals that ten counties have the lowest percentage of residents engaged in climate-related investments, highlighting significant disparities in climate action across Kenya.

Mandera ranks lowest, with only 6.7% of its population participating in such initiatives, followed by Trans Nzoia at 8.3% and Garissa at 13.5%.

Other counties in the bottom 10 include Tana River, Isiolo, Turkana, Samburu, Wajir, Murang’a, and Baringo, with Baringo leading this group at 26.6%.

Key climate-related investments include solar-powered equipment, water conservation, tree planting, biogas systems, and efficient cooking energy.

The findings underscore a pressing need to address barriers to climate adaptation in these counties, such as limited resources and awareness.
