Marcella Sheila Sajuu, the mother of the late comedian and actress Tabitha Gatwiri, recently shared a poignant tribute to her daughter, expressing the deep sorrow and loss she feels.
In a heartfelt post, Marcella mourned Gatwiri’s untimely passing, reflecting on the close bond they shared.
She described her daughter as a source of love and support, questioning why God would take her beloved child so soon.
“God, why my daughter and not me?” she wrote. “My child, you were full of life, you supported me, and loved me so much. Death, come for me too.”
In a recently surfaced interview, Gatwiri herself spoke warmly of her mother, praising her as a constant pillar of support.
She shared that while her parents were initially uncertain about her career in content creation, her mother quickly became her biggest fan. “My mother is my top fan,” Gatwiri had said.
“When I post something, she reacts immediately. She’s so proud of me, and that makes me so happy because not many parents understand content creation.”
In the days following her passing, friends and family have shared insights into Gatwiri's final days. Fellow TikTok creator Prince Mwiti disclosed that Gatwiri had taken ill two days before her death.
After her family grew concerned when she didn’t respond to calls, her brother decided to check on her. Tragically, he found her lifeless at home.
“Content creator and actress Gatwiri has passed on,” Mwiti shared. “Reports indicate she fell ill two days ago. Her brother, unable to reach her, went to her home, broke in, and found her lifeless body. May Gatwiri's soul rest in peace. One day you’re okay, the next you’re gone. Live life to the fullest.”
