Rapper Michael Kennedy Claver alias Naiboi treated Collo to a big surprise – showing up at the listening party days after landing in Nairobi secretly from the US where he had relocated.

“I just want to say thank you to every single soul that made it here today. I have been surprised and I don’t know what even to say. I'm just grateful that we got to do this,” Collo said.

During the Listening party, we asked a few people how they perceived Collo as an artist and his comeback in the industry.

Mr Lenny

Collo is a very talented guy and I feel he has not even given us his full potential. He is actually supposed to be up there with his brother Nyashinki.

I’m happy for him and when he sent me the invite to be here I said this is it and I have to be here. We have been waiting for his return to the game. They did fantastic work as Kleptomaniax and it’s never easy when a group separates. I’m happy that he is back to give us more music and the songs I have listened to are dope. He really needs to let this music out there for people to listen to them.

Frasha

I have worked with Collo on a couple of songs and if you know Collo, you must be aware that he likes smiling a lot. I have seen that Collo is back. When we did a song together he was called ‘King Wa Rap’ so I had to call myself ‘King Wa Flow’ so that I could get a collaboration with him.

Collo, I’m glad you are back and where we are as an industry, we have done collaborations and I want us now to get into partnerships. If you know a Lawyer who is an artist use him, if you know an artiste who is a studio, use that. Let’s embrace partnerships.

Nameless

I’m so much joy seeing you sitting on your throne right now. When I entered that gate is saw a happy friend. You are so happy to be in this space, a real King is the one who can accept that he is vulnerable.

As an artist you always have to stand and look strong for the fans but with friends here you can be vulnerable and I want to let you know that you have an amazing talent.

Collo I’m so proud of you because it's not easy coming back and doing the thing. You were given an amazing voice and every time you sing or rap you command authority. And I love the fact that you know that you are “King Wa Rap,”.

I like the fact that you called a few of us here to listen to the new music and give you feedback. Big up the king wa Rap.

During the Listening party, Collo mentioned that he started off his career back in 2001 as part of a group called Kleptomaniax

“I started my music career as part of a group called Kleptomaniax in 2021. The group later disbanded in 2007 after we finished our tour in the US.

He further stated that he had spoken to Roba who is regarded as the founder of Kleptomaniax and fans should expect a deluxe soon.

“I spoke to Roba who is the founder of Kleptomaniax and he was like we need a deluxe album and I think it can happen because even Mr Nyamari wants to do some Klepto. So probably 2025 you might see a Kleptomaniax project,” Collo said.

Guests got the rare opportunity to listen to Collo’s unreleased songs as he prepared to present them to his fans.

Beyond his musical accomplishments, he has found success in various media and entertainment sectors, including roles as a radio and TV presenter and copywriting in advertising.
