Bahati’s public apology to baby mama Yvette Obura angers fans

Musician Kevin Bahati has raised eyebrows online after publicly apologizing to his baby mama Yvette Obura and a popular Kenyan footballer.

Bahati used his Instagram Account with a following of over 3.6 million followers to acknowledge his mistake as he asked for forgiveness.

He mentioned that in June he posted Yvette’s photo on social media at a time he was promoting his Netflix show.

He said he looks forward to fostering a good co-parenting relationship with Ms Obura.

“In June 2024 I posted a photo of Yvette Obura on my social media accounts. I take this opportunity to apologize to my Sister for any harm caused. I never had any ill motives. I look forward to fostering good co-parenting in the future,” read Bahati’s message to Yvette Obura.

In a separate post, the aspiring politician also posted a photo of a famous Kenyan footballer accompanied by a similar apology.

“In June 2024 I posted a photo of (footballer’s name) Diana Marua on my social media accounts. I take this opportunity to apologize for any harm caused. I never had any ill motives. I look forward to fostering good brotherhood and more partnership in the future,”

The move has elicited mixed reactions among his fans and followers- many accusing him of clout-chasing with other people's fame for his own selfish interests.

Fans who commented on Bahati’s apology to Yvetter called out the singer for referring to his baby mama as “My Sister’.
