Judy Nyawira and Abel Mutua

Judy Nyawira and her husband Abel Mutua have been together for 15 years, with seven of those years spent as a married couple.

The couple, who share a beautiful daughter cutely named Mumbu, have built a life of growth, partnership, and prosperity, working closely together both in their personal and professional lives.

In an interview with Nairobi News, Judy shared the unique way they handle their finances as a couple, stating the importance of financial transparency and joint responsibility.

"Everyone has their account, and then we have joint accounts, When we get money, it goes into our accounts. If I get paid for some work that I have done, it goes to my account, and the same goes for Abel. From the personal accounts, we now transfer the money to the joint account."

Judy revealed that they have four joint accounts, each serving a specific purpose, ensuring financial organization and accountability within their family.

“We allocate our accounts per project. We have one joint account for Mumbu’s education, another joint account for emergencies, a joint account for family projects, like the house project we have right now, and another joint account for business," she explained.

"These four joint accounts are funded from our accounts, but there is a percentage that we contribute to each joint account.”

Beyond finances, Judy also credited their strong bond and teamwork to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

She noted that going to the gym has been instrumental in keeping both her and Abel mentally and physically sharp.

“Working out does something to your whole being. Rarely would you go to the gym and be in a bad mood or low-spirited, even if you were before the workout. Going to the gym activates the endorphin hormone and relaxes you."

Judy described working alongside her husband as one of the most fulfilling aspects of her life. Their shared experiences have not only strengthened their relationship but also allowed them to grow together as individuals and partners.
