Comedian Eric Omondi

Comedian Eric Omondi is finally free after being released from police custody.

Omondi was arrested on Sunday while headed to Uhuru Park to lead a meeting met to honour all those who died during the anti-finance protests.

In his message, the funnyman said he was disguised as a lady wearing Bui Bui after being warned of a possible attack by the police.

H mentioned that the police managed to arrest him because he could not run fast wearing a bui bui.

“I’m free!!! So I was in Uhuru Park the whole Morning but I was disguised because I had been given intel and told to be careful...Around noon as the police chased us nilishikwa juu I couldn't run in the bui bui...,” Eric Omondi said.

According to Omondi, the police were shocked to realize that he was the one wearing the Bui Bui.

“The police were shocked to realize it was me????. What's important is that we showed up and celebrated our heroes,” he said.

Earlier on the Comdian’s wife called upon Kenyans to call for the unconditional release of Eric Omondi.

“'Release Eric Omondi now, this is becoming too much. Eric Omondi's whereabouts are unknown. Release my man, please. He has been ambushed by unknown people together with Trudy Kitui. Kindly let's spread the message. The Constitution is becoming powerless by the day. We clearly have no rights  as the people of Kenya,'' Begged Lynn

The event was to be held in honour of Kenyans who lost their lives during the protests that were largely led by Gen Z to demand greater accountability in government.

Several Kenyans lost their lives while many others were injured and some are missing to date.

Call from Gen Z Police

Omondi went on to allege that a certain Gen Z called him at around 6:30 AM ON Sunday to warn him against going to the streets because he would be targeted.

“A certain Gen Z policeman called me at 6:30 am and told me they have been given orders to deal with me once and all. His axact words were, ‘Huyou Kijna na ametusumbua sana nyinyi fanyeni venye mtafanya. So I’m here at Uhuru Park because I must show up. They don’t know I’m here but we will deal with them the way they want to deal with us. God is with us,” Omondi said while driving past the police at Uhuru Park.
