NTV unveils Olive Burrows' replacement after she moved to Citizen TV

Media Personality Michelle Ngele has landed a new job at Nation Media Group months after leaving Standard Media Group

Ms Ngele recently made her debut on NTV with a brand new show that she will be hosting.

The talented journalist will be hosting the Prime Time News on NTV with two shows in her name - Unpacked and Head to Head.

She has already made changes in her social media profile to reflect her new workstation and title.

Ngele has replaced Olive Burrow who was poached by Citizen TV to take Victoria Rubadiri’s place after she joined CNN.

“Michelle Ngele-Odhiambo makes her debut on #NTVWeekendEdition. She will host two brand new segments; Unpacked and Head to Head. Here’s what to expect today and every Saturday on NTV,” NTN said in a statement.

“How often does your internet freeze on you? ? #UNPACKED is breaking down the new wave of satellite internet coming to Kenya, in the simplest way possible – because we all love a good explainer. Tonight 9 PM @ntvkenya #Unpacked #satelliteinternet#ntvweekendedition,” she captioned a promo of her show on NTV.

On August 8th, Ngele put up a post reflecting on her journey at KTN News – a station that shaped the journalist that she is now after 9 years.

“Reflecting on a Journey. Nine years ago, I embarked on an incredible journey at KTN News, Kenya’s first 24-hour news channel. As we bid farewell to a station that shaped my career and passion for journalism, my heart is filled with gratitude.

She thanked the KTN management for allowing her to work with them over the years.

“Grateful for the lessons, the stories, and the incredible team that felt like family. From breaking stories to unforgettable moments, every experience has been a stepping stone in my growth.

“Thank you, KTN News, for shaping who I am today. Though the screen goes dark, the impact will last forever,” Michelle Ngele said.

KTN News Shutdown

Michelle Ngele left KTN at a time when the media house was shutting down their 24-hour channel - KTN News and KTN Farmers TV.

KTN News the media company's 24-hour news channel was merged with KTN Home which is dedicated to regular programming.

The decision to close KTN News and KTN Farmers TV is seen as part of a broader strategy by the Standard Group to streamline operations and cut costs amid a challenging media landscape.

The company has not provided detailed explanations regarding the implications of this closure for its remaining staff or its future programming.
