Benga singer Princess Jully, born Lillian Auma Aoka, passed away on Saturday, October 12, after a prolonged illness.

Her death was confirmed by family members, including her son Ogudah Bradley, who expressed his grief on social media, saying, “Mamana (my mother) Princess Jully is no more. It’s unbearably hard for me.”

Princess Jully was known for her impactful music, particularly the hit "Dunia Mbaya," which addressed the effects of HIV/AIDS.

This song earned her the top prize at KBC's 'Benga' music competition, which included a cash award of Sh100,000. She was a prominent figure in the Benga music scene, inspiring many artists and paving the way for future stars.
