Social media actress Mary Goreti, popularly known as Mama Ryan, has opened up about her journey into entertainment, revealing how her passion for acting started while she was still in high school.

Goreti, who has built a following through her online character Mama Ryan, explained that acting had always been something she wanted to pursue.

Despite her interest in entertainment, she went on to study psychology, a profession she briefly practised during her attachment.

She explained that choosing psychology was partly influenced by her desire to pursue something in order to earn her keep.

For her, however, acting provided an opportunity to express herself and explore her creativity.

Her parents’ biggest supporters

The actress also spoke about the support she has received from her family throughout her journey.

According to Goreti, her parents have always been among her biggest fans, supporting her passion for acting.

She is the firstborn in a family of four children and is also a mother to a six-year-old son, Ryan, whose name inspired her popular online identity.

Her Mama Ryan character has gained considerable recognition on social media, with the actress noting that her online popularity has grown beyond what she has experienced on mainstream platforms.

Goreti is active on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, where she shares content that has helped her connect with audiences.

Her favourite acting character

During the conversation, the actress also discussed some of the characters she enjoys portraying.

She identified Katonge, a character who takes on a boss-like personality, as her favourite.

Goreti explained that she enjoys playing different personalities, including characters that allow her to take charge.

She also noted that she is capable of portraying a submissive wife, showing the range of roles she can explore through her acting.

The actress also said that she is grateful for all her fans who have supported her throughout her career.
