Gospel minister Mercy Masika has shared her insights on family dynamics and marriage during a candid interview on the Family Dynamics podcast hosted by Kerry Kagiri.

Her appearance follows public discussions surrounding the announcement of her upcoming masterclass, titled Becoming a Wife.

Masterclass Announcement and Social Media Feedback

During the sit-down, Masika addressed the feedback she received after posting about her new marital programme on social media. She noted that several women online responded to her post by suggesting that relationship instruction should be directed toward men instead.

Masika expressed that this mindset often misses a fundamental aspect of marital relationships.

"Most women think their husbands are the problem, but one of the things I realise is we have emotional intelligence more than our men,” Mercy Masika said.

The upcoming Becoming a Wife masterclass is structured to offer practical guidance for both married women and those preparing for marriage. Key relevant details and figures for the masterclass include:

  • Launch Date: Scheduled to begin on 21 November.

  • Format Structure: Comprises three physical sessions and four online classes to accommodate international participants.

Perspective on Emotional Intelligence and Marital Dynamics

Explaining her perspective on emotional capacity within relationships, Masika highlighted why she believes women play a crucial role in building family structures.

She referenced scriptural principles to explain her position on women's natural discernment.

"That's why the Bible doesn't say a wise man builds, it's a wise woman, why, because we can see through things, we have emotional intelligence more than our men," Masika stated.

She urged women to avoid approaching relationship difficulties through confrontation or blame. According to Masika, patience and respectful communication yield better long-term outcomes in marriage than conflict.

"You win with wisdom, you win with how you being respectful, it always works," she explained.

Structure and Guidance for Modern Families

The masterclass will feature guest facilitators, including Bishop Kathy Kiuna and Dr Sue, covering topics ranging from emotional maturity to intimacy.

Masika also highlighted the importance of establishing clear boundaries with extended families to protect the nuclear household.

"If you let your other family rule over your family, you will not have a family."

She concluded by advising couples to prioritise their immediate family dynamics and seek contentment rather than letting anxiety control their households.
