Tanzanian singer Zuchu has opened up about her relationship with her mother-in-law, Mama Dangote, admitting that disagreements can happen while insisting that she remains hopeful about their future.
Speaking on Monday, October 26, the Sukari hitmaker said she preferred to focus on the positive aspects of their relationship rather than dwell on their differences.
“Mimi ni mtu very optimistic. Napenda kuwaza vitu positive. Tunapoenda ni vizuri zaidi,” she said, meaning she was an optimistic person who preferred to think positively about the future.
Zuchu acknowledged that things had changed but expressed hope that their relationship would continue improving.
“But right now I can sit here and testify that things have changed a lot and I am hoping for the best hata kwenye future,” she added.

The singer maintained that she considers Diamond’s family her own and has no intention of disrespecting his mother.
“Familia ya mume wangu ni familia yangu. Mama yake mume wangu ni mama yangu. I really respect her,” Zuchu said.
Her remarks come amid recurring public speculation about her relationship with Mama Dangote, whose real name is Sanura Kassim.
The singer also addressed the possibility of disagreements between family members, explaining that living together can naturally bring differences of opinion.
“Na wasiogombana ni watu ambao hawaishi pamoja. Lakini mkishakua mnaishi pamoja kubishana lazima kuwepo,” she said.
Zuchu suggested that people who do not live together are less likely to argue, while those who share a home may inevitably do so.
Despite acknowledging these differences, she maintained that disagreements do not necessarily mean that a relationship has broken down.
History of speculation surrounding their relationship
Zuchu’s latest comments revisit a subject that has drawn fans' attention over the years.
In October 2023, the singer publicly dismissed rumours of a fallout with Mama Dangote, saying they were on good terms.
The speculation followed online discussions about Mama Dangote’s interactions with Diamond’s former partner, Kenyan singer Tanasha Donna.
In January 2024, Mama Dangote also spoke about Zuchu’s relationship with her son, saying Diamond had not formally introduced the singer to her as his wife at the time.
Since then, Diamond and Zuchu’s relationship has continued to attract public interest.
Zuchu’s latest remarks focus on maintaining respect within the family while expressing optimism about the future, rather than confirming a fresh fallout with her mother-in-law.
