Kenyan social media personality Brenda Ochieng has opened up about her former relationship with rapper Stephen Otieno Adera, popularly known as Stevo Simple Boy.
Speaking on the Obinna TV Extra podcast hosted by Oga Obinna, Brenda shared unexpected details regarding their intimate life and eventual separation.
Her revelations follow a highly publicised breakup between the pair, which occurred after DNA test results confirmed Stevo was not the biological father of her child.
An Unusual Relationship Boundary
During the sit-down interview, Brenda revealed that Stevo consistently rejected romantic physical affection, particularly kissing. She stated that the musician held a firm belief that kissing transmits severe illness.

"Stevo ni mtu mwenye utasema, ‘hebu nijaribu kukiss huyu’ but atakataa. Ukweli hivi amesema kissing inaleta cancer."
Brenda recalled that whenever she attempted to kiss him, he would immediately refuse out of fear for his health.
"Nilijaribu kumkiss akakataa. Hata sai angekuwa hapa nijaribu kukiss, utaona anapanguza mdomo."
Sleeping Arrangements and Distancing
According to Brenda, Stevo's aversion to physical contact was a constant theme throughout their time together. She explained that if she tried to show affection, he would physically wipe his mouth and step back.
Brenda added that Stevo would sometimes grab his mattress and move to sleep on the floor in the sitting room to avoid intimacy.
"Hataki hizo mastori mingi anabebana tu na mattress zake anaenda kulala huko chini.”
She noted that even when she tried using romantic terms of endearment, Stevo remained distant.
"Atasmile tu atakuambia tu wewe wacha."
Love, Truth and the Final Split
Addressing questions about her emotional connection to the rapper, Brenda confirmed that she initially cared for him.
"Eh nilimpenda."
However, as the relationship stalled, she advised him to look for a compatible partner elsewhere.
"Sikumdanganya mi hadi kuna time nimemwambia mi sioni hizi mapenzi place inaenda tafuta tu bibi ukae naye."
Brenda also denied claims that she had unfaithfully stepped outside the relationship during their time together.
Medical Context: Kissing and Cancer Risk
While Stevo's concern may sound extreme, medical research does link specific intimate contact to health risks.
According to data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Human Papillomavirus (HPV) can be transmitted through oral contact, including deep open-mouthed kissing and oral sex.

The CDC reports that HPV is responsible for 60% to 70% of oropharyngeal cancers, which affect the back of the throat, tongue, and tonsils. Furthermore, CDC statistics indicate that mouth and throat cancers associated with HPV have now surpassed cervical cancer as the most common HPV-related malignancy.
Medical experts emphasise that while casual kissing carries minimal risk, high-risk HPV strains remain a documented risk factor for oral cancers.
