WHO and its partners have launched a framework to help countries monitor the effects of extreme heat on pregnant women, newborns and children.
The framework recommends tracking complications such as premature births, stillbirths and child deaths linked to extreme heat. It also urges governments to strengthen early warning systems and prepare health facilities to protect vulnerable groups as heatwaves become more frequent.
