Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has promised his wife, Dorcas, the biggest birthday celebration ever next year, as he reflected on their 37 years of marriage and the family’s political journey.
In a birthday message to his wife, Gachagua expressed gratitude for what he described as God’s blessings and growing acceptance by Kenyans over the past two years.
“Happy birthday, my gal! It’s yet another year filled with grace and favour,” he said.
Gachagua recalled that two years ago, the family celebrated Dorcas’ birthday in 'shock' following what he described as humiliation and disgrace after his impeachment.
“Today, as we celebrate your birthday, we thank God that we are a very happy family. Over the past two years, we have received countless blessings from God, as well as inexplicable favour and acceptance from the people of Kenya,” he said.
The former deputy president said the family was preparing to return home and intensify its political activities, describing the next phase as part of the effort to liberate the country.
“As we prepare to travel back home and engage the final gear in the liberation of our country, please accept my assurance that, on a day like today next year, I will throw you the biggest birthday celebration bash ever at the most coveted address in the country,” he said.
Gachagua did not name the venue for the planned celebration but expressed confidence that he would fulfil the promise.
He also reflected on the couple’s 37 years of marriage, saying he had kept most of the promises he had made to his wife.
“In our 37 years of marriage, I have made you many promises and kept most of them. This is one promise I SHALL honour and MUST honour,” he said.
