President William Ruto has wished learners across the country success in their studies, assuring them of his personal support as he continues his working tour of the North Rift region.

The President wrote the message on a board during a visit to Kiminini Constituency in Trans Nzoia County, where he interacted with pupils, teachers and local leaders.

“My very best wishes to every child in class in Kenya and assure them of my very personal support and attention,” Ruto wrote.

He signed and dated the message, drawing applause from learners, teachers and leaders who had accompanied him during the visit.

Addressing the pupils, Ruto encouraged them to take their studies seriously, complete their homework and work hard to excel in their examinations.

The President also bought lunch for the children during the visit, in an interaction that brought him face-to-face with learners as he highlighted his administration’s commitment to education.

Ruto has repeatedly defended his government’s record in the education sector, pointing to the recruitment of thousands of teachers since he assumed office as part of efforts to address staffing shortages in public schools.

The President has maintained that investing in teachers is critical to improving learning outcomes, easing workloads and ensuring pupils receive adequate attention in classrooms.

His administration has argued that increasing the number of teachers will help improve the teacher-to-pupil ratio.

The government has also presented teacher recruitment and other education reforms as part of a broader effort to expand access to quality learning and equip young Kenyans with skills for employment and national development.
