President William Ruto has toured Tinderet Constituency in Nandi County, where he laid the foundation stone for Meteitei Hospital, inspected two road projects and commissioned Maraba Modern Market.
The President’s visit focused on improving healthcare services, upgrading transport infrastructure and expanding market facilities to support economic activities in the region.
At Meteitei, Ruto laid the foundation stone for the hospital, a project expected to improve access to medical services for residents of Tinderet and neighbouring areas.
The health facility is expected to bring essential medical services closer to communities and ease pressure on existing hospitals, reducing the need for residents to travel long distances to seek treatment.

The President also inspected the ongoing works on the Maraba-Kebeneti and Timboroa-Kopere roads, which serve communities across Tinderet and surrounding areas.
The roads are expected to improve connectivity and ease the transportation of agricultural produce, including tea and maize, to markets.
Once completed, the projects will also improve access to schools, health facilities and trading centres while reducing transport challenges for residents and businesses.
Road infrastructure remains a key concern for agricultural communities, where reliable transport links are essential for farmers seeking better access to buyers and markets.
Ruto also commissioned Maraba Modern Market, a facility intended to provide traders with improved spaces to conduct business and support local commerce.
The market is expected to create a more organised trading environment for small-scale traders and provide farmers with improved opportunities to sell their produce.
