Kenyan distance runner Amos Kipruto has won his maiden Chicago Marathon title, clocking a personal best of 2 hours, one minute and nine seconds.

Ethiopia’s Tadese Bikila finished second, followed by compatriot Milkesa Mengesha.

Defending champion Jacob Kiplimo of Uganda settled for fourth. Kipruto’s victory comes after finishing third in 2024 and second last year, missing Kelvin Kiptum’s course record by just 34 seconds.
