Kenyan amateur boxer Ferdinand Omondi, popularly known as Mbavu Destroyer, has announced plans to vie for the Makongeni Ward MCA seat in the 2027 General Election. He made the announcement through a campaign-style poster shared online, outlining priorities including jobs, education, healthcare and infrastructure. Mbavu rose to national fame through viral boxing videos and his rivalry with fellow amateur boxer Portifas Odipo, popularly known as Majembe. His catchphrase, “Weka mawe,” has also gained popularity on social media.
