President William Ruto is leading the official commissioning of the mausoleum of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga at Kang’o Ka Jaramogi in Bondo, Siaya County.

The ceremony takes place as Kenya marks one year since Raila’s death and observes Mwezi wa Baba, a month dedicated to honouring his life, political career, and contributions to the country.

Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage Cabinet Secretary Hannah Cheptumo says the mausoleum serves as a repository of Raila’s memory, history and identity for future generations.

The Kenya Defence Forces constructed the facility, and the National Museums of Kenya is expected to take stewardship.
