President William Ruto has warned landowners in the Coast region against evicting Kenyans who have lived on their land as squatters for years. Speaking during the issuance of title deeds in Mombasa, Ruto said his administration would protect vulnerable residents and urged landowners to engage the government rather than resort to evictions. He said the government was ready to compensate landowners to facilitate the release of land occupied by squatters.
