President William Ruto has announced plans to expand and modernize the Port of Mombasa to increase its capacity and strengthen its role in serving Kenya and the wider EAC region. Speaking in Mombasa, Ruto said the government, through the National Infrastructure Fund, will build afresh Ports 11 to 14 and 23 and 24. He said the expansion will double the port’s capacity and boost economic growth.
