Office of the Registrar of Political Parties has approved the reservation of the Linda Mwananchi Movementname for up to 90 days.The decision follows a ruling by the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal, which found the earlier rejection of the name unlawful and unconstitutional.The Registrar had initially declined the application after finding that another registered party had similar initials.The tribunal directed the ORPP to reconsider the decision and issue a fresh determination within seven days.The approval now allows the movement, associated with Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, to proceed with the next steps towards registration as a political party.
