President William Ruto has clarified that the land where the Dangote oil refinery is being constructed is legally owned by the government. This follows claims by a section of people seeking compensation over ownership of the land. Speaking during a joint press conference, Ruto said that if any part of the refinery extends onto legally owned private land, the government will be responsible for compensating the affected owners, not the investor.
