VON has unveiled a new range of smart home appliances as it extends its warranty from one year to two years across its portfolio, excluding commercial products.
The appliances were launched on Wednesday at VON Tech Day at Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi as the company kicked off VON Month 2026.
The new range covers cooking, refrigeration, laundry and cooling, under the campaign line "Living Smarter, the New Wave".
The company said the 24-month warranty will take effect on October 1, 2026, and will apply to the entire VON portfolio, not only the newly launched products.
The extended warranty is separate from model-specific 10-year compressor or motor warranties, which will continue to cover the stated components.
VON said the warranty extension is backed by improvements in product quality, with four to five products in every 100 returned within warranty four years ago, compared with fewer than two today.
"VON is different. VON is ours. It was born from a simple question: what if we took decades of learning and used them to design products around what African consumers genuinely value? Tonight tells one story. VON is no longer simply about an affordable appliance. We are building a serious technology and consumer brand," said Ravi Kanani, Chief Executive Officer of Hotpoint Appliances Ltd.
The new range includes appliances with features such as artificial intelligence, Wi-Fi connectivity, voice control, inverter technology and multi-function cooking.
Among the products unveiled is the VON SmartWash Washer-Dryer Stack, which uses AI to detect laundry loads and select programmes while automatically dosing detergent.
The VON Inverter Air Conditioner comes with Wi-Fi and AI voice control, I FEEL temperature sensing and self-cleaning technology.
The company also unveiled a 5-in-1 Convection Microwave that combines microwave, baking, grilling, air frying and steaming functions. It has 52 auto-cook menus, digital touch controls and a self-cleaning function.
The refrigeration range includes a four-door slot-in refrigerator with a convertible 80-litre compartment that can switch between fridge and freezer. It also features Metal Cooling and Eco, Smart and Holiday modes.
Other refrigeration products include bottom-mount and top-mount refrigerators with inverter compressors, while the bottom-mount model has a four-star EPRA energy rating.
The cooking range includes Professional and Premium Cookers with SABAF and wok burners, fan-assisted ovens and flame failure protection.
VON is also introducing a five-burner gas hob, a Smart Cooker Hood with 700m³/hr extraction and hob-to-hood connectivity, and a 115-litre Built-In Digital Oven with 10 cooking modes, including air fry.
From November 2026, VON will begin assembling its cookers locally in Kenya on a new CKD cooker assembly line.
"VON was born in Kenya. Our ambition is for it to be built in Kenya and loved across Africa," Kanani said.
VON said its Africa 2030 strategy, launched in 2025, is expanding the brand across the continent. The company said it is present in eight African countries and reaches around 30,000 homes every month.
The company also launched a new website and announced plans to open its first VON brand store by the end of October 2026 at Nairobi Mega Mall on Uhuru Highway.
Customers can also access VON products through retail partners including Naivas, Quickmart and Carrefour, as well as export and B2B partners.
VON Month will run throughout October and will feature Kenyan creators across six territories: Tech, Kitchen, Home, Youth, Business and African Lifestyle.
"Every product in the New Wave was chosen to solve a real, everyday need," said Raj Kanani, Commercial Director, Hotpoint Appliances Ltd. "Across cooking, refrigeration, laundry and cooling, this is the most complete VON range we have ever brought to Kenyan homes, and it is backed by a 24-month warranty."
