Security of Government Buildings and VIP Protection Unit Commandant Lazarus Opicho has died at Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi after an illness. Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja mourned Opicho as a dedicated officer who served the National Police Service with commitment and integrity. Opicho oversaw specialised security operations protecting key government installations, senior government officials, VIPs, and judicial facilities.
