Schneider Electric has introduced Vivace E, a new range of switches and sockets, to the East African market as the global energy technology company expands its offering of modern electrical solutions.

The new range is part of Schneider Electric’s Vivace family, which has been trusted by customers for more than two decades.

Vivace E features a slim profile, frameless panel and curved corners, combining contemporary design with functionality.

Geraldine Sande, Channel Sales Leader at Schneider Electric East Africa, said the new range was developed with everyday use in mind.

“Switches and sockets are often small details within a space, but they are also among the elements people interact with every day,” Sande said.

“Vivace E reflects our understanding that customers want more from these everyday products. They want something that looks beautiful, feels good to use and delivers the quality and reliability for which Schneider Electric is known.”

The range has been designed to improve the user experience through attention to details such as the faceplate and switching mechanism.

According to Schneider Electric, the precisely engineered faceplate provides a smooth touch, light pressure and firm rebound when the switch is used.

Vivace E also includes features designed for the hospitality sector. These include Do Not Disturb indicators, keycard switches, mechanical curtain switches, bell switches, night foot lamps and panic buttons.

International switched sockets are also included as part of the range, which Schneider Electric says is intended to provide a more intuitive experience for guests.

The range also incorporates features aimed at making installation and maintenance easier for electricians.

Slots beneath the cover plate allow individual switches or the complete cover to be removed using quick-release latches. This is designed to help electricians work more efficiently and simplify future maintenance.

The socket terminals have also been enlarged to accommodate two 4mm² cables, making wiring and connections easier, including in applications where larger cables are required.

Mounting screws are included to support straightforward installation.

Safety is another key feature of Vivace E. The range includes double-pole switched sockets and integrated safety shutters designed to prevent accidental contact with live parts.

Schneider Electric said the range also reflects its commitment to more sustainable product development. Its materials comply with applicable REACH and RoHS requirements governing chemicals and hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.

The Vivace E range comes in Glossy White and Matte Black finishes, with soft, rounded corners and a premium high-gloss white finish.

Other features include a smooth-touch mechanism, safety shutters on sockets and dual grounding connectors on double-pole switches.

The switches are rated at 16AX to support higher short-duration switching currents. The range also includes USB A+C switched sockets and a dedicated 21W USB charger.

Schneider Electric said Vivace E complies with applicable British Standards and International Electrotechnical Commission standards.

The company said the new range brings together contemporary interior design and the practical requirements of modern electrical solutions.

“With Vivace E, Schneider Electric is redefining the role of the everyday switch and socket by combining the elegance of contemporary interior design with the functionality, safety and reliability expected from modern electrical solutions,” the company said.
