Nairobi County official Geoffrey Mosiria has denied knowing media personality Steve Thompson Magana, widely known as Oga Obinna, after receiving a formal Ksh 10 million legal demand letter.
Speaking in an interview with online content creator Trudy Kitui, the Chief Officer for Citizen Engagement and Customer Service stated that he was completely unaware of any court orders or legal notices issued against him.
"Personally I'm hearing about that I've not seen anything about that,” Mosiria said.
"I Only Know the Obinna from Nigeria"
During the interview, Kitui raised the matter of the legal demand served by law firm Otieno Ogola & Company Advocates on 17th September 2026. The legal notice demanded a public apology, content deletion, and Ksh 10 million in financial compensation.
Mosiria responded by distancing himself from the Kenyan media personality, claiming that he only knew a different individual from Nigeria by the same name whom he had personally assisted into rehabilitation.

“There's Obinna from Nigeria who is my good friend and he has been battling depression. I took him to the rehab... he was a media personality from Nigeria... That's the only person I know,” Mosiria said.
Disowning Legal Claims and Content
When asked about the specific social media videos referenced in the legal notice, Mosiria insisted that his online content referred solely to his Nigerian friend battling depression.
He added that he had no intention of addressing the legal demands, stating that he did not wish to engage with unfamiliar claims.
"I will not address what I don't know because I don't know because I don't want to know and I will never know."
Origin of the Feud: April Boxing Match
The legal dispute follows months of public friction between the two public figures. The rift originated in April 2026 during the "Vurugu Fight Night" boxing event at Kasarani Indoor Arena.
At the event, fighter Majembe defeated Mbavu Destroyer by technical knockout to secure a total prize package valued at over Ksh 2.5 million. The prize included Ksh 1 million in cash, a Toyota Noah vehicle, a sports bike, and a one-year gym membership.
Following the match, Mosiria published statements online alleging that the bout was scripted and fixed by Obinna to boost ticket sales and betting revenues.
Obinna dismissed Mosiria's allegations, claiming the official was seeking publicity after being refused complimentary tickets to the event.
Seven-Day Legal Deadline Expires
The formal demand letter issued by Obinna's lawyers gave Mosiria seven days to retract his statements, issue a national newspaper apology, and pay Ksh 10 million.

"Siku Saba zili-isha, we proceed. Wengi wenu hamjui Defamation ni nini, na how Lucrative it can be ukishika tu mmoja wao." — Oga Obinna.
