The Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya is calling for greater deployment of pharmacists at Level Three health facilities to strengthen medicines management and patient safety. The Society says many Level Three facilities now handle chronic illnesses, maternal health and increasingly complex medicines. It says pharmacists can provide medication reviews, monitor adverse effects, support adherence and antimicrobial stewardship, and identify cases requiring referral as Kenya strengthens primary healthcare.
