Police and multi-agency officers have raided a suspected illegal donkey slaughterhouse in Kalimoni Ward, Juja, Kiambu County, following reports of donkey carcasses being dumped in the area. Officers found 30 live donkeys in poor condition inside a two-storey building, but no suspects were present. They also recovered blood-stained knives and clothing, slaughter waste, polythene bags and packaging materials suspected to have been used for donkey meat. A neighbor told police that slaughtering activities were often heard at night, about once a week.
