Heavy security has been deployed at the Bamburi factory in Kisauni, Mombasa, ahead of the destruction of methamphetamine valued at Sh8.2 billion. Top security officials are expected to oversee the exercise, led by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen. The narcotics were seized from a vessel intercepted in the Indian Ocean in October last year. The haul is linked to a case before the Shanzu Law Courts, where six suspects are charged with trafficking the over one thousand kilogrammes of methamphetamine.
