A bus has been intercepted in Kanyonyoo, Kitui County, with 48 rounds of AK-47 ammunition concealed inside pieces of meat. A multi-agency security team stopped the Zafanana Coach travelling from Daadab to Nairobi along the Thika-Garissa Highway during a routine security check. The ammunition was found in a blue woven bag placed on the overhead luggage rack. The driver, Samuel Ngui Munyithya, and turnboy Justus Muatha Kiola were arrested after failing to account for the consignment. The bus was detained as investigations continue.
