The Senate Public Accounts Committee has directed Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro to produce a medical report in his next summon after he failed to appear before the committee to answer accountability queries concerning his administration, including 10.7 million shillings owed to suppliers. The Moses Kajwang’-led committee said claims of illness should be supported by a report from a qualified medical practitioner. The summons comes as the Senate holds its week-long Mashinani programme in Kilifi, bringing committees and plenary sittings closer to residents.
