Bumula Member of Parliament Jack Wamboka has recalled how Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna represented him in a political dispute in 2017, saying their journey of defending the rights of ordinary Kenyans continues.
Wamboka said Sifuna represented him nine years ago before the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal in a fierce battle after what he described as attempts by “political merchants” to take away his party certificate.
“Nine years ago in 2017, Edwin Sifuna represented me in a fierce battle at the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal after political merchants attempted to take away my party certificate to contest,” Wamboka said.
He said the incident was part of a wider journey of standing up for ordinary citizens, fighting for justice and defending the people’s voice and rights.
“It has always been a journey for Mwananchi, standing firm, fighting for justice and defending the people’s voice and right,” he said.
Wamboka added that the journey would continue to the end, without elaborating on the specific political or legal battles he was referring to.
“The journey continues. To the end,” he said.
Wamboka has emerged as one of the leaders associated with the Linda Mwananchi movement, joining the outfit as it expanded its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Wamboka joined the movement’s activities after attending its 31st rally in Machakos and later took part in its strategy meetings.
He has since been actively involved in the movement’s mobilisation efforts, particularly in Western Kenya.
In July, Wamboka was among leaders who participated in a consultative meeting in Trans Nzoia that endorsed Sifuna as the movement’s preferred presidential candidate and agreed on plans to mobilise voters across the region.
He has also accompanied Sifuna during Linda Mwananchi mobilisation activities in different parts of the country, including Busia.
Wamboka has further been involved in efforts to formalise Linda Mwananchi’s political structure.
He has maintained that the movement is focused on building a people-centred political outfit anchored on justice, accountability and servant leadership.
The movement has continued to expand its grassroots activities, with leaders planning engagements in more constituencies as they seek to establish a nationwide support base ahead of the 2027 polls.
